Skip is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur who has helped a variety of startups launch, grow and exit. In addition he has funded and launched a few of his own companies. Skip started his entrepreneurial career at an early age buying a Gold’s Gym in the San Francisco Bay Area. He then expanded to a total of 6 clubs and converted the brand to California Athletic Clubs before exiting via a sale of the franchise to 24 hour fitness. He then helped grow the IAC division of Ziff-Davis publishing to $250 million, after which it was sold to Thomson Publishing. Skip continued his entrepreneurial career with Sequoia Capital – backed which was acquired by Lycos. Skip then founded and funded the first open source strategy firm – Open Source Group. Throughout his career, Skip has helped other startups, launch, grow and exit. Skip earned his bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College, and then followed on with a Master’s in Public Administration from the college of Notre Dame. He lives in San Mateo, California and is a native of San Francisco. In his spare time Skip enjoys baseball, yoga and studying quantum physics.
Dr. Stephen Daniels, CTO, CSO

Dr. Stephen Daniels

Stephen is the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Scientific Advisor and Chief Product Architect. He has published over 200 scientific papers in plasma technology and sensor systems. He has founded several technology companies and designed dozens of products. He is currently a faculty member in the School of Electronic Engineering at Dublin City University and leads a large multidisciplinary research team.

As VP of Engineering Baldev Krishan oversees the cloud based architecture as well as reviewing the electronic components such as board/chip design and systems integration. Formerly Baldev was the founder of Smart Embedded Systems, Inc., Silicon Valley based company. Baldev is a Silicon Valley Entrepreneur and Founder of OmniTel (Acquired by Data Race), Novalink, Encanto (Acquired by Lucent), NovaWeb Technologies and Shimon Systems.

He has over 30+ years of business management experience dealing with various technologies such as analog and digital modems, wireless, security, networking, and telecommunications.

Dr. Krishan has his MSEE from Illinois Institute of Technology, and a PhD. in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University and has 13 patents to his name.

Lisa Ainsworth, VP Operations

She spent 18 years of her 20+ year career with GE, holding senior executive positions with GE Capital and GE Plastics. She has breadth and depth of experience in Operations, Change Management, Six Sigma, Commercial Partnerships and Joint Ventures. Her most recent role with GE was Chief Commercial Officer for the GE Group for the UK & Ireland. In her spare time, Lisa is a keen runner, a Gaelic football coach for pre-school kids and enjoys hiking in the west of Ireland with her family and two dogs.

Dr. Shengyang Chen obtained his Bachelor’s Degree of Software Engineering in Wuhan University, China in 2009 and his Master’s Degree (2010) and Doctoral Degree (2015) of Telecommunications Engineering in Dublin City University. He has been working as a director of software development since January 2015. During Shengyang’s spare time he enjoys reading, light music, swimming, badminton and outdoor hiking.

Shane received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering in Dublin City University. Shane completed a PhD studying M2M and generator control applications for off-grid hybrid telecoms base stations. Outside of this Shane enjoys spending his time home-brewing beer, helping out with events in the local hacker-space (TOG) and travelling when time permits.

Ruairí studied at DCU in Dublin, where he completed his undergraduate degree in Medical Mechanical Engineering, his Masters in Biomedical Engineering, and his PhD in Electronic Engineering, specializing in Biosensor development. Using the skills he developed as one of the companies design engineers, Ruairí enjoys creating his own custom designs outside of work, ranging from wedding and Christmas presents to general house decorations. Outside of this however his hobbies include playing soccer, snowboarding, and writing.

Rachit received his Design Masters in Medical Devices from NCAD, Dublin and received his Undergraduate Degree in Electronics Engineering in the University of Pune, India. He considers himself a ‘creative engineer’ and maintains a ‘user-centric’ approach to his work. While not designing he teaches children, plays golf and indulges in his love for theatre.

Rob holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from Dublin Institute of Technology and when he’s not working on a new product Rob enjoys helping family and friends with their own projects as well as music and travelling.

Patricia Ainsworth received her Diploma in Marketing in the College of marketing and Design, Dublin and has been working in her marketing and administration role since January 2014. Prior to that Patricia has worked in a number of different marketing and event managing roles over the years within IBM, PMM Ireland and more recently Dublin City University. In her spare time Patricia enjoys hill walking with her family, reading and aqua aerobics. She has recently taken up running and plans to complete her first ever 10k road race.

Dr. Juan Carlos Ivancevich

Dr. Ivancevich is a world leader in allergy and immunology issues. Dr. Ivancevich served as the Secretary General and Vice President of the Latin American Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and is currently the web editor-in-chief. Also Dr. Ivancevich served as President of the Argentinian Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, between 2007 and 2009. He was on the Board of Directors of the World Allergy Organization, and is currently the Editor in Chief of The World Allergy Organization website. Dr. Ivancevich served as an Adjunct member of the Board and Editor in Chief to the website of Interasma, part of the Global Asthma Association and currently Dr. Ivancevich is head of allergy and immunology at the Santa Isabel clinic in Buenos Aires. Additionally he is an Associate Professor of Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, Del Salvador University, in Buenos Aires.

Dr. Clifford Bassett

Dr. Clifford Bassett, an Allergist and Immunologist, is the Founder and Medical Director of the Allergy and Asthma Care of New York. Dr. Bassett is on the faculty of the New York University School of Medicine, the Weill Cornell Medical College, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and Otolaryngology at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Bassett has been interviewed on numerous local and national radio and television programs as an allergy expert. These include CNN, MSNBC, CBS’s “The Early Show,” NBC’s “The Today Show,” ABC’s “Good Morning America,” “NBC Nightly News,” FOX News Network, Telemundo and NPR, among others. He has also frequently contributed articles for Time, The New York Times, Business Week, Forbes, Cosmopolitan, Newsweek, Reader’s Digest, New York Daily News as dozens of other publications.

Additionally, Dr. Bassett serves as the Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine, and the Assistant Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology at the State University of New York – health sciences Center at Brooklyn. He has been twice elected as a fellow at the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and is held multiple positions and appointments at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Dr. Sakina Bajowala

Dr. Sakina Bajowala is a Board-Certified Allergist & Immunologist, and the Medical Director of Kaneland Allergy & Asthma Center in North Aurora, IL. Dr. Bajowala holds multiple committee appointments as a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. She also volunteers her time for advocacy efforts as a speaker/educator and medical advisory board member for patient-focused non-profit organizations.

A recognized influencer on social media (@allergistmommy), Dr. Bajowala is focused on harnessing the ability of mobile technology to promote health education and improve outcomes. She is an accomplished speaker, and is routinely called upon to share her expertise in this area to audiences in the U.S. and overseas. You will often find her featured as an expert in publications such as Woman’s Day, Parents Magazine, WebMD, Huffington Post, and, among others.

As an asthma and allergy sufferer herself, and as the mother of children with asthma and allergies, Dr. Bajowala has a unique perspective on the management of atopic disease: patient, parent, and physician. She shares these insights on her popular blog:

Dr. Bajowala earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago in 1999 and her M.D. from Rush Medical College in 2003. She served her residency in pediatrics at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital and her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Bajowala is certified to the Highest National Standards by American Board of Pediatrics (2006) and the American Board of Allergy & Immunology (2008).

Charles Hsu

Charles has been involved in over 40 life sciences and healthcare companies, as a co-founder, investor, Board member and/or Advisor.  He has been active in China since 1996, and has been involved with some of the earliest venture-backed successes there, both as a founder and as an advisor.

Charles is Founder and Manager of Crosswave, a China-focused venture management and advisory firm. He also serves on the Board of the Jacobs University Foundation, is an advisor to the Chinese American Biopharmaceutical Society (CABS) and ChinaBio LLC, and is a member of BayHelix.  He holds an AB (Magna Cum Laude) in Biochemistry from Harvard and his PhD (Genetics) and MBA degrees from Stanford.  He is also into skiing, wine-tasting, writing and traveling.
